The short answer
Guests scroll Airbnb like a catalogue, so your cover photo and first five images decide whether they click. Lead with your best feature (the lake, hot tub or view), show every bed clearly, add amenity detail shots, and keep the photos bright and true to the space. Airbnb photography with me starts at $150 CAD.
1. Pick a cover photo that stops the scroll
Use your single strongest reason to book: the view, the hot tub, the pool or the cosiest living space. In the Okanagan that's often the lake or a vineyard view. In winter at Big White, it's the fireplace or ski access.
2. Order the photos like a walkthrough
- Hero shot, then the main living space
- Kitchen
- Every bedroom, showing each bed clearly
- Bathrooms
- Amenities: hot tub, BBQ, games, workspace, coffee bar
- Outside and the view, then the neighbourhood
3. Shoot the details guests search for
Detail shots of the coffee setup, a made bed, the hot tub and the parking help guests picture the stay and answer questions before they message you.
4. Prep like a hotel
- Neutral, tight linens and matching towels
- Clear counters and hide cleaning supplies
- Every light on, blinds open, fireplace on if you have one
- Stage the amenities guests pay for
5. Stay accurate
Don't use wide-angle distortion or editing that changes the space. Accurate photos protect your reviews.
6. Refresh seasonally
Summer lake shots and winter ski shots can both help a listing that books year-round.
